Comprehensive Network Troubleshooting Tools for IT Administrators
The AdventNet ManageEngine OpUtils is a comprehensive set of 40+
unique system and network monitoring tools. This web-based software
helps network engineers monitor, diagnose and troubleshoot their
IT resources. Network engineers and IT operations staff managing
large networks would find this toolset very useful and handy, especially
during troubleshooting.
Using ManageEngine OpUtils, you can troubleshoot frequent network
problems such as network connectivity, availability, health, and
latency of any IP
in the network. It also offers custom-made tools to manage DNS
names, IP and MAC addresses, fetch details about CPU, memory, software
listing and more. The SNMP tools help monitor any SNMP-enabled IP
node, whereas the Cisco tools help monitor Cisco-specific devices
and nodes. Graphs, charts, and tables provide real-time views of
the network and system information. Results can be exported as reports
in various formats such as PDF, HTML, and Excel spreadsheet.
ManageEngine OpUtils is totally web-based, so there is no necessity
of local installation. The IT operations staff can install the toolset
in any remote system and can connect using any standard Web browser.

ManageEngine OpUtils presents a rich set of diagnostic tools that
assist in network troubleshooting. The Ping
and the SNMP Ping
are graphical versions of the ICMP and SNMP Ping utilities. The
Enhanced Ping
is an improved version of the normal ICMP ping. The Ping
Scan fetches a list of live IP nodes whereas the SNMP
Scan gets a list of live SNMP-enabled IP nodes. The Proxy
Ping tool helps initiating a Ping test from any remote Cisco
router, and the Trace
Route records the route through the network between the sender's
IP and any specified destination IP.
ManageEngine OpUtils offers intuitive tools for address monitoring.
The DNS Resolver
tool fetches the DNS name for any IP node and vice versa. The MAC
address resolver can fetch the MAC Address for any node, with
the provided IP Address and vice versa. Subnet
List gives a list of all the subnets under which the given node
is present. The IP
Address Manager fetches the availability of IPs and helps manage
them using a pre-defined user policy in a static DNS environment.
ManageEngine OpUtils' server monitoring tools help monitor desktops
and get various data like the system information, CPU and disk space
usage, process monitoring information, list of installed software,
and other general system details. The Disk
Space Monitor displays the available and used memory space in
various drives of the system. The CPU
Monitor displays the usage of the CPU in a real-time scenario.
The Process
Scan tool lists all the processes running in the given system.
The Software
Scan tool lists the software installed in any machine. The IP
Node Browser scans the given IP node and displays complete information
about it.
ManageEngine OpUtils' network monitoring toolset helps monitor
the performance of the devices, map the switch ports, and scan through
the IP nodes. A unique monitoring tool - Wake
On LAN remotely boots up a machine that is present in the network,
but is not alive. The Bandwidth
Monitor provides the average bandwidth utilization and the percentage
utilization in a graphical form. The Percentage Utilization graphs
display the Received Utilization and the Transmitted Utilization.
The Switch
Port Mapper is an auto-discovery layer2 and layer3 port-mapping
tool. It eliminates the need for manual tracing of cables and presents
all information on port mapping. The Performance
Monitor tool monitors routers, servers and other nodes for utilization,
packet flow, octet flow, add error and discards. It presents a graphical
representation of the performance data using graphs and charts.
The Network
monitor tool sends an alert after continuously monitoring a
node if the system stops performing or goes down. The various alerts
are colored differently to differentiate their criticality. The
Network Scan
is a utility to scan a network for retrieving network data. The
IP Network
Browser tool scans IP nodes and presents all the device details.
The Port Scanner
is a utility to scan a system to get the status of the TCP ports.
ManageEngine OpUtils provides graphical interfaces for monitoring
Cisco devices. The Device
Snapshot tool provides a quick snapshot of the given Cisco device.
The Chassis tool provides
the chassis details about the Cisco device. The Flash
tool provides the flash memory details of the Cisco device. The
IOS tool gets the details of
the Internetwork Operation System Software installed in a Cisco
device. The IP Routes tool
provides the IP routing details of the Cisco router. The Device
Monitor tool helps monitor the CPU utilization, memory utilization,
buffer miss rate, and buffer failures. The Interfaces
tool gives the list of interfaces, their type, IP Address, physical
address, bandwidth, maximum transfer unit, admin status, and operational
status. Access Lists
provide the access control lists that are built into the device.
The Config File Viewer
compares running Vs startup configs and displays color-coded differences
between them. It can also download and take backup configurations, and
print configurations.
ManageEngine OpUtils has two set of tools - one to browse through
various MIBs present in the MIB data base and the other to perform
SNMP operations on an SNMP node in a network. To locate the exact
MIB in which a particular OID is present, just provide the OID name
or Number to the MIB Node
Viewer tool. This will give you all information on the MIB,
parent node, OID type, syntax, and description on the given OID.
To view the defined attributes of a MIB, total number of nodes,
defined TCs, defined traps, and the general information on any MIB
you can use the MIB
Module Viewer. The SNMP
Walker enables viewing the data available through an SNMP agent
in an IP node. The tool helps in getting the values of all SNMP
Variables in the MIB subtree. The SNMP
Graph is a utility to gather real-time data and draw a graph
for any SNMP device using the available data. The Trap
Receiver tool listens for network traps and processes it. The
MIB Browser is a utility
that enables loading and browsing MIBs and allows you to perform
all SNMP-related operations like GET,SET, GET-BULK etc.
