This depends on the hardware factors of the the system that generates
load. System with 512MB RAM and 1Ghz CPU can easily generate 1000VU's.

would be active at any point of time of the test?
QEngine does not have 1 thread per virtual user type of architecture.
Hence for a system simulating 1000VU's thread count will vary from
40 - 400.

web service technology?
You can use it for webservices created with any technology like
Java /.Net etc. The only requirement is that they have a defining
WSDL and are bound with the SOAP/HTTP binding.

Yes. QEngine tests functionality and performance of web services.

13.What will be the migration
path for QEngine 5.4 users?
To move from Release 5.4 to Release 6.0.
1. Export and Import the test
suites from Release 5.4 to Release 6.0.
2. Run Migrator.bat/.sh file in <QEngine_Home>/bin
directory with <Suite_Name> as the argument to migrate the
configured filters and data configuration files (if any) from
previous version to the current version.
E.g., Migrator.bat <Suite_Name>
Note: You cannot move the test suites directly
from a much previous version to the latest by skipping the in between
releases. For example, assume you want to move from release X to
release Z where release Y was made in between.
Then, first move to release Y and then to release Z.
